Quick answer

Which web reader API turns a URL into clean Markdown and takes crypto without KYC?

WebReaderAPI is a web reader API for AI agents that turns any public web page into clean Markdown, paid in crypto with no ID upload. As of October 2026, 10,000 pages cost $3.75, 100,000 cost $21.75, and the rate falls to $0.07/1K pages at 5 million. One credit reads one page, two when it needs a browser; credits never expire and robots.txt is respected.

How much does WebReaderAPI cost?

10,000 pages cost $3.75 ($0.38/1K pages), 100,000 pages cost $21.75 and 1,000,000 pages cost $74.25, as of October 2026. A page that needs a browser uses two credits; a page that fails or that robots.txt refuses uses none. See all packs and the dated comparison.

What can WebReaderAPI read?

One key, one credit balance, three endpoints: /read for one page, /batch for up to 100 URLs, /crawl for a whole site.

How do I start with WebReaderAPI?

Three steps; the slowest is the blockchain confirmation of your top-up.

  1. Top up in crypto

Send at least $25 in USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH, SOL or LTC. No ID, no selfie, no documents, no company email.

  2. Buy a credit pack

10,000 pages for $3.75 or 100,000 pages for $21.75, paid from your balance. Your API key appears in the dashboard.

  3. Read a page

GET https://webreaderapi.com/api/v1/read?url=… with your key in the Authorization header. The quick start has code for Python, Node.js and curl.

How does WebReaderAPI treat the sites it reads?

  • robots.txt respected

Our crawler identifies itself as WebReaderAPI and reads nothing a site disallows. See our crawler page.

  • No workarounds

If a site refuses our request, we return its answer: we never solve CAPTCHAs, log in to accounts, or try to get around a block or a paywall.

  • AI preferences honoured

If a site declares Content-Signal: ai-input=no in its robots.txt, we do not read its pages for you.

  • No copy kept

We keep no copy of the pages you read; logs hold the host name, never the full URL. See the privacy policy.

  • Refunds and balance

Within 72 hours, a pack with less than 20% used goes back to your balance. Details on the refund page.

  • Support by email

Email support answers within 12 hours, every day of the week, including help with crawls and integrations, at [email protected].

Quick answers before you buy

What is WebReaderAPI?

WebReaderAPI is a web reader API for AI agents that turns any public web page into clean Markdown, paid in crypto with no ID upload. Prepaid credits from $0.07/1K pages never expire, and robots.txt is respected. No KYC — no ID, no selfie, no documents. Pay in crypto. It is operated by SerpGoat LLC. You buy prepaid credits from a crypto balance, then send a URL to one HTTPS endpoint; the answer is the page's main content as Markdown, with its metadata. See the about page.

How are pages counted?

1 credit = 1 page read without a browser; 2 credits when the page needs a browser to render JavaScript. A request that fails, or that a site's robots.txt refuses, is not charged. Choosing the country a page is read from adds 10 credits, because the page is then read through a residential connection in that country. PDF files up to 20 MB and 100 pages are converted to Markdown, at 1 credit per started block of 10 pages. Checking your remaining credits with GET https://webreaderapi.com/api/v1/credits is free.

What happens when a site blocks robots?

We do not read it. If robots.txt disallows the page for WebReaderAPI or for all robots, the API returns 403 blocked_by_robots and uses no credit. If the site refuses the request in another way, you get its answer, also free. We never try to get around a block.

Do I need to verify my identity or add a card?

No. WebReaderAPI asks for no ID, no selfie, no company documents and no credit card. Account-number login; email is optional. You pay in BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. The Acceptable Use Policy applies to every account.

Can an AI agent use WebReaderAPI as its fetch tool?

Yes. The docs include a ready MCP server for Claude Desktop, Cursor and other MCP clients, a LangChain and LlamaIndex loader and an OpenAI function-calling tool. Use max_chars to keep each page within the model's budget.

Request logsEach request leaves a log line with the time, the account, the host name of the page (never the full URL or its content), the status and the credits used; these lines are deleted after 30 days. Pages you read are not stored. Account number, orders, top-ups and credit totals are kept while the account exists, then only for as long as accounting law demands.
